New Product Samples!

Here are some quick snapshots of my art on manufacturer's samples that I recently received.  I am so excited!  Paper Images, Inc. did such a great job!

A gift bag with one of my snowmen.  I love the way they used my cardinal as the gift tag!  Also, I love that they printed the inside of the bags too.

My art on a gift bag as a die cut.  Love it!

The snowman collection.  Gift bags, wine bag, lidded nesting boxes, greeting cards, money holder cards, and notepads.

Another snowman collection.  Gift bags, greeting cards, and notepads.  One of the bags features glitter, velvet ribbon, and a faux leather hat band.  The snowman head was also made into the gift tag.  Very cute!

Another collection.  Nesting lidded boxes, greeting cards, and thank you cards.

Thank you cards with a metallic green background.  Very cute!

I think these are my favorite!!!  Paper Images did an awesome job with my art on their products!

Portraits of Winter

Here in the Pacific Northwest we have been lucky to get some serious snow today!   At least I think we are lucky.  I have a few friends that would disagree!  In my neighborhood we ended up with about 7" deep of sparkly frosty white goodness blanketing the landscape.  Such a treat!

I was excited to get outside and explore.  I ended up on a two hour walk around the neighborhood, which was only really cold when walking north into a very cold wind.  It was very refreshing though and once I was trekking through the untracked snow, I warmed up very quickly!  I enjoyed every minute of soaking up the visuals of a landscape transformed.

Here are a few of the images from today.

5:30 a.m.  All was quiet.  I always get so excited when it snows here.  I pulled on my winter boots and ran outside in my p.j.'s to get an early morning shot!  Brrrr!

Off on my walk mid-morning, I saw quite a few people walking to the stores, a cross-country skier, lots of people sledding and tubing down the big hill on N 35th street (one group with a double size inflatable mattress!), some like me just out enjoying a walk in the snow.  I took so many photos.  The ones below are mostly nature/architecture shots and are my favorites of the day.

The gulch bridge and trees.

Tree.

Serene middle school play field.

Snow day for local schools.  So quiet.

Tree silhouette.

From the gulch bridge looking way down.  People and animal tracks.

A big old truck nestled in the snow.

A neighborhood garage.  I love this shot.

Snowy branches.

And......

one photo that is completely different than the rest...

while I was out I couldn't resist picking up some bright orange tulips from the store to brighten the living room.  Oh so pretty!

Boxed Christmas Cards

While cruising the aisles of my favorite local grocery store, cozy little Metropolitan Market, I always keep my eyes open in the hope of seeing my art on some of the products they sell.

In October, I spotted one of my Halloween designs on a glitter globe.  I have to admit, I was pretty excited to see it there!

Well, a couple of days ago, I was hanging out in the greeting card department where they have a wall section devoted to boxed Christmas cards, and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but two different boxed sets with my art for the holidays this year!

Yes.  I was excited.  : )

Both of these boxed card sets are from Design, Design, Inc., a wonderful greeting card company!

At our local Metropolitan Market, the chickadees are already sold out and there are a few boxes of the cardinals still available.

If you see these in the stores, send me an email and let me know where you saw them!  I would love to hear from you!

Best,

Liz

My art was also used for their 2011 Collection - (Release 2) catalog as well as the interior of their Atlanta showroom.  What an honor!  Thank you PPD!

From Martha Stewart Living and Mohawk Home, is this indoor Holiday floor mat with cardinals, chickadees, and white branches and snow, on a pale blue background.   Available at The Home Depot and at  -The Home Depot online!  Get yours for the holidays!

These manufacturers have been great to work with!  More good things are coming up soon...

Fresh Greens and Whites

I love the fresh clean look of greens and whites together.
In my house, while shopping, in the garden,
my eye is always drawn to this
crisp,
clean,
color combo.

Lovely scented hyacinths...

Sweet snowdrops...

Add in a tulip...
mix new and old white ceramic or clear glass...
antique linens on a rustic white table...
a white backdrop...

Or add in a favorite antique chair...

Ahhhh...greens and whites together just make me feel so calm...
make me breath easier...

Go ahead...
gather some fresh green and white goodness
and bring it inside
to sooth your senses...
even if it's the
tiniest
single
white
flower
placed
in the
tiniest vase...

You'll be glad you did...

Breathe...

Thinking Of Heat This Cold, Cold May

We are experiencing an unusually cold, cold, month of May here in the Pacific Northwest.  I find myself thinking of last summer and some of the very warm days we had.

One week in particular comes to mind.  We headed east over the mountain pass and into eastern Washington to the Spokane area where the temp was, to me, uncomfortably hot!  95 degrees is just a little too much heat for this Puget Sound girl.  However, right now, as I sit in my art studio with the space heater on full blast, that heat sounds awfully nice!

We spent a 95+ degree afternoon in Spokane's Riverfront Park in Spokane, Washington, strolling along the smooth paths winding  through the park and beside the Spokane River.  I think I just about melted.  Thankfully a shady tree towering over a comfy picnic bench next to the river was the perfect place to sip an ice cold local beer!

This first image below, of Riverfront Park, was just published in the June 2011 Northwest Travel Magazine!

Another shot of Riverfront Park, the flowerbeds packed with colorful snapdragons.

We tried to cool off a bit in the shade of one of the many bridges that cross the Spokane River in Riverfront Park.

We also spent an afternoon in the resort town and artist's community of Sandpoint, Idaho which is located along the shore of big and beautiful Lake Pend Oreille.

Bicycles are a great way to tour the town and lakeshore.

We stayed just outside of Deer Park, Washington in the peaceful farmlands nestled between surrounding hills, where thankfully, the setting sun allowed for blissfully cool nights after blistering hot days... and where dandelion puffs, tractors, and a variety of grasses were aglow from the golden sun slipping down behind the distant hills...

Now that I have revisited warm hot summer days, at least I think I feel a bit warmer.  Or maybe it's the effects of my space heater finally warming me up!

Until next time, here's to warm summer days!

Best,

Liz

Hi there!  Happy Friday to you all!

As a licensed artist and photographer, I always get so excited to receive samples from manufacturers with my art on their products!

Here is the latest group of samples I have received.  LPG Greetings is offering these designs as boxed sets for the 2011 Holiday season.

I am so pleased with the way LPG Greetings adapted the art and did the lay-outs on the inside of the cards.

Ta-da!  Here they are...   :  )

Contemporary chickadees and white tree...

Contemporary cardinal and white trees...

Which one is your favorite?
