Here in the Pacific Northwest we have been lucky to get some serious snow today! At least
I think we are lucky. I have a few friends that would disagree! In my neighborhood we ended up with about 7" deep of sparkly frosty white goodness blanketing the landscape. Such a treat!
I was excited to get outside and explore. I ended up on a two hour walk around the neighborhood, which was only really cold when walking north into a very cold wind. It was very refreshing though and once I was trekking through the untracked snow, I warmed up very quickly! I enjoyed every minute of soaking up the visuals of a landscape transformed.
Here are a few of the images from today.
5:30 a.m. All was quiet. I always get so excited when it snows here. I pulled on my winter boots and ran outside in my p.j.'s to get an early morning shot! Brrrr!
Off on my walk mid-morning, I saw quite a few people walking to the stores, a cross-country skier, lots of people sledding and tubing down the big hill on N 35th street (one group with a double size inflatable mattress!), some like me just out enjoying a walk in the snow. I took so many photos. The ones below are mostly nature/architecture shots and are my favorites of the day.
The gulch bridge and trees.
Tree.
Serene middle school play field.
Snow day for local schools. So quiet.
Tree silhouette.
From the gulch bridge looking way down. People and animal tracks.
A big old truck nestled in the snow.
A neighborhood garage. I love this shot.
Snowy branches.
And......
one photo that is completely different than the rest...
while I was out I couldn't resist picking up some bright orange tulips from the store to brighten the living room. Oh so pretty!
